Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB), the national carrier of Malaysia, and Peak Pacific have signed an agreement to jointly design and develop a blended learning solution for Cabin Familiarisation and Safety & Emergency Procedures (SEP) training for Flight Crew and Cabin Crew, with the introduction of their latest A350 fleet.

The airline announced that it has selected Peak Pacific to provide the solution, which will be a combination of eLearning content and mobile apps to support and enhance learning in order to manage business growth and training needs. The move marks a major shift in the airline’s training direction, and also makes it one of the first airlines in the region to adopt a fully integrated learning and training approach philosophy.

According to MAB’s Chief Executive Officer Izham Ismail, “Malaysia Airlines has been looking for a blended learning solution as part of its new strategy for pilot and cabin crew training. Having evaluated a number of suppliers and solutions, we believe Peak Pacific is the right fit for us as they have the experience and understanding of how training is an integral part of our high standards for safety, quality, and compliance. They also have experience in developing flight and cabin crew training, including SEP, having worked for nearly 10 years with some of the world’s leading airlines. The SEP solution for the A350 and A330 fleet will be a new training approach and sets the path for other fleets to follow in future.”

He added, “Safety is Malaysia Airlines’ utmost priority and this solution is just one of our efforts to continuously enhance safety. We will be among the first in the region to invest and embark on this implementation from a holistic approach.”

Peak Pacific Founder & Group CEO, Kishor Mistry, said, “We are very proud that Malaysia Airlines selected Peak Pacific for this project. It shows the confidence MAB has in our ability to deliver innovative solutions to meet the future needs of our customers as a trusted partner. Having worked with MAB on other technology projects, we understand their goals, expectations, and challenges. Hence, the ability to work as partners in a more consulting and collaborative manner to deliver quality solutions and products is essential.

“This agreement is another significant milestone for Peak Pacific in 2018, and for MAB to become the leading progressive carrier in Malaysia to take up technology and new learning approaches. We look forward to working with the airline and Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) to implement a world class solution.”
